Who is Fresh Air Yoga?

Naples Personal TrainerFresh Air Yoga consists of just one person, Monique Danielle.  As a younger woman Monique made the gym her home away from home. Some would call her a ‘fitness buff’. Overflowing with enthusiasm, Monique often coaxed friends and family into participating in her fitness pursuits. For 11 years she was a ‘personal trainer’ in every sense, except that her clients were friends and family, and her pay was zilch. Well, actually she was paid, but not in money. Instead her reward came from seeing friends and family lose weight, firm up, improve their romantic lives and experience increased self-esteem.

Young, somewhat less mature, and lacking in life experience, the younger Monique was all about tight buns and rock hard abs. She didn't begin to explore the connection between mind-body fitness until her late twenties, when she lived in Portland, Oregon. Portland, a city known for progressive thinking and alternative health practices, was the ideal training ground for developing her mind-body fitness philosophy. This rich environment, coupled with an increased level of maturity, helped Monique realize that fitness is about much more than rock hard abs and buns of steel. Monique, the former gym rat, discovered that fitness reaches its full potential when we focus on strengthening our bodies, nurturing our souls, and living more fully.

Blessed with this newfound knowledge Monique became the healthiest woman in Portland, and helped improve the lives of thousands of men and women.

Well, that's not quite how it happened....

Naples Web DesignMonique had discovered the importance of the mind-body connection, and she did pursue holistic health...intermittently. She was distracted by her responsibilities as a wife, mother and owner of marketing agency, www.divadesignworld.com. So, instead of stepping onto the path of holistic health, Monique grew more and more disconnected from her body. She became afflicted with what she calls EBD (entrepreneurs’ butt disease), which she describes as, “a chronic condition in which the skin grows pale, the muscles slowly atrophy, the backside widens, and stress and feelings of being disconnected intensify.”

Then Monique moved to Naples, Florida and began to reassess her lifestyle choices. She decided to stop wasting away at her desk, and begin an intense fitness program.  Just about that time Monique received a postcard from the 'Health Club of Naples' inviting her to participate in a 50-day fitness makeover. She immediately called the club, accepted the challenge and began to reclaim her body. Simultaneously she nurtured her soul by delving deeper into her Christian faith and Yoga practice.

As a result of her mind/body fitness program, Monique felt so complete and wonderful that she felt a calling to start a career as a fitness professional.  With an unstoppable passion for fitness and years of alternative wellness practices under her belt, the road to becoming a ‘feel good’ fitness professional was clear for Monique. Within a short period of time she became a Certified Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Group Fitness Instructor.
